Welcome to the Get Your New View podcast! Keep listening (and watching!) to learn how we work with frustrated Business Central and NAV users who struggle to use their systems and find the answers they need. We teach them to truly understand how the system can support their business processes to make immediate and lasting improvements. As a result, they get more done in less time, make better business decisions, and even love their system! In this next season of the Get Your New View podcast, I'd like you to meet Kim Congleton. Kim and I are the co-owners of New View Strategies, and this season we'll be talking with you all about change management and cheese. Essential points covered in this episode: ✔️ Understand why lessons in the business bestseller book Who Moved My Cheese? by Spencer Johnson are no longer relevant if not considerably obsolete today in terms of management. The book tells the fable of two mice Scurry and Sniff and two tiny humans, Hem and Haw. Sniff was a little mouse who went scurrying around and figured things out by discovering them. Scurry kind of ran around without a plan and just tried to figure things out as they went along. And then Hem and Haw, as you can think of for their names, were skeptics about change. ✔️ Why we need to learn from The Meatloaf Tale. The story tells of processes or beliefs that may have made sense in the past but no longer have relevance today. In your company, what meatloaves do you still keep? ✔️The business has changed substantially. If you think about what your business looked like five years ago and what they sold and who they sold to, and how you did things, it may be entirely different every five years, and that timeline is probably getting shorter and shorter. ✔️ The technology rate of change also gets different, changing faster and faster, especially with having software in the cloud. ✔️When we look at change, that has also "changed." As leaders, it's time for us to think differently. Think about how your company or how your industry has changed and what is different, and how fast is change happening compared to five or ten years ago? ✅ About Kerry Peters & New View Strategies: Kerry Peters is the CEO of New View Strategies, a company known for solving mission-critical business problems and a straight-talking, experiential approach to training and process improvement for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Dynamics NAV.
