Spite can be for any reason. It can be an accusation against you. It can be an allegation of infidelity. Or, your spouse is one of those with a natural spiteful personality. How do you deal with a spiteful spouse during divorce? Most divorce cases are resolved without the benefit of a trial. It's important to maintain your emotional control during the case. Try not to escalate things. The goal is to resolve the case in a manner that is fair to everybody. Allowing an escalation can very well hinder the process. Maintain appropriate control. Document everything. Focus on the big picture. Is it worth fighting for? Keep your eye on the prize. It never pays to handle things through spite. Communicate with your attorney. Let your attorney know what are your reasonable goals.
