S3. Ep.38 More Than Enough W/ Jay

Listen Later

In celebration of Women's History Month, my bestie-sista-friend, Jay, stops by to have a chat with me about the moment when we figured out that we were more than enough in our careers. Pay inequality is something that is constant fight and battle for women across the United States. According to the U.S. Census, on average, Black women were paid 63% of what non-Hispanic white men were paid in 2019. That means it takes the typical Black woman 19 months to be paid what the average white man takes home in 12 months. That’s even worse than the national earnings ratio for all women, 82%, as reported in AAUW’s The Simple Truth about the Gender Pay Gap. We talk about the people that helped us along the way and the moments that affirmed us to keep pushing forward. And the book by Elaine Welteroth, More Than Enough, the solidified the journey to break glass ceilings.
Share a time when you were reminded that you were more than enough and you pushed through!
