What does one do if your child gets hurt while in the custody of your ex-spouse? There's a custody arrangement.  The custody goes to the other parent on alternate weekends. The child comes back in a cast or a sling.  What do you do? Children want to run around. They like dangerous things. Things their parents will shy away from. They engage in activities where someone will most likely get hurt. It does not mean someone is abusing the children. There will be trips to the emergency room. The best you can do is to find out what happened. Find out how it happened. If it is, talk to your lawyer. Once the court sees proof of abuse or neglect, the court can put some safeguards in place.
