On the show tonight, Joe begins with his look back at 9/11, albeit a day late. He talks about what he remembers leading up to a day that we’ll never forget of this day that rivals previous generations’ Pearl Harbor or JFK assassination moments, as we know where we were when the news broke when all hell broke loose. Joe also talks about what we should do as Americans to remember those that died on that horrible day in American history.
Joe tries to lighten up the move by going to his specialty, which we know is sports. Jets QB Aaron Rodgers completely tore is Achilles on the first drive of the season and is done for the year. Joe has regret saying he would have been injured. He meant a “minor” injury that many players get that miss a few games, but an injury that signals the end of his career.
Then some sad news as Mike Williams passed away at 36 after a construction accident left him partially paralyzed. Thought and prayers to his family.
Eagles win an ugly game in New England, and that game was exactly what Joe expected. Now the Eagles get their Thursday game out of the way this week as Minnesota comes to town.
Another show, another domestic violence story (unfortunately). Kevin Porter of the Rockets got into a fight with his girlfriend in a Manhattan hotel. He was arraigned on Tuesday.
Kyle McCord is the permanent starting QB for Ohio State for this season. It piqued Joe’s interest because he went to Joe’s high school.
Joe’s tired of the Braves. Not because they will probably win the NL East on Wednesday, but because the Braves are the supreme hot dogs of MLB. Joe thinks baseball has gotten too soft, because all the hot dog stuff done by these teams top one another.
Then Joe shows an interesting video of how Chris Chelios found out his #7 is being retired by the Chicago Blackhawks. It was former owner Rocky Wirtz’s dying wish to retire his number. So sports fan and Pearl Jam lead signer Eddie Vedder led a tribute to the deceased owner and announced the jersey retirement scheduled for February 2024.
Finally, Andre Duke joins me, and we talk about Deion Sanders, college football, and the Eagles.
