Today, The Boston Marathon is a grand event with thousands of runners from around the world.  But what was it like in the 1970s and 1980s? Janet ran her first Boston Marathon around 1979 when she was just seventeen years old. Join us for a candid look back as Janet retraces her early running years which included not only running Boston but also participating in global competitions while volunteering with The Peace Corps in Thailand. 

Later in the episode, Janet shares her love of the Mount Washington Road Race, an event she runs nearly every year as well as how she reframed her love of competing in a moment that came to her while running the New York City marathon. So many meaningful insights!
