This is Psalms Wednesday, and we read

Psalms 18–20, a trio of passages that show God’s power to rescue, His wisdom in His Word, and His faithfulness when the world feels uncertain.

David looks back on seasons of overwhelming danger and celebrates the God who rescued him from “deep waters.” God is pictured as a warrior-king who thunders from heaven, scatters His enemies, and lifts His servant to safety.

Creation proclaims God’s glory, and His Word revives, enlightens, and rejoices the heart. David ends with a prayer many believers cherish: “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to You, O Lord.”

Psalm 20 blesses the believer with assurance that God answers in times of trouble. The central line — “Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we depend on the Lord our God” — anchors this episode’s theme: true security comes only from Him.
