Listen Later

It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back is the the second studio album by the iconic group Public Enemy. Released on June 28, 1988 by Def Jam and Columbia Records. The album has always ranked high on every list possible, including several times as the best hip hop album of all time. Public Enemy and this album changed things and allowed a political stance in hip hop and in some critics eyes made the genre legitimate. Let's be clear, hip hop has always been legitimate, Public Enemy was the conscious of hip hop and for the art form to be born in 1973 and for its conscious to become this loud and masterful at 15 years old means that hip hop has always been ahead of things. Thank you Public Enemy and everyone involved in making this album.
