When buying and owning a home there can be up to 37 different professions needed to maintain, finance and repair things in and around your home. Luckily for you I am giving you the Top 8 right now!
Even during the home buying process, start thinking about who you know and who you can trust in these professions:
1) Plumber: a DIY can get out of hand easily!
2) Electrician: if it is beyond shutting off a breaker it's best to trust a professional.
3) Roofing Pro: new roof, different roof, roof leak, roof cleaning and gutters - it's often easier to know someone than to do it yourself SAFELY.
4) HVAC/ furnace: Do periodic maintenance for the furnace and air filters. Know someone that can troubleshoot options for both heat and cooling.
5) Landscaper: Discover something big underground? Giant tree stumps where you planned to do a garden?
6) Drainage: When (not if) you have water in an unexpected location, who would you call?
7) Home Insurance: Required as a part of the purchasing, this may be someone you never talk to or it may be someone you chat with every time you add a new car or driver to your household. Let's talk to a few!
8) Handyman: Often the first step when a DIY has gone wrong, these companies can help you finish the job safely and correctly!
