Dame Melinda Simmons has served as the British Ambassador to Ukraine since 2019. Prior to her current post, Dame Melinda worked in the UK civil service for over 20 years, having held posts at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office as well as the Department for International Development, where she worked on projects that included land restitution in the former Soviet Union. 

In this episode, Dame Melinda candidly speaks on the toll that living in Ukraine during the war has taken on her, and both Russia’s and Ukraine’s relationship to antisemitism and Jewish people.
