  • Why is it important to appreciate those things and people you love?
    • It boosts others physically: directly tied to a surge in dopamine (for the person being appreciated and the person appreciating)
    • It gets the best out of a person and keeps them motivated
    • It supports well-being
    • It helps people feel valued
    • It makes people feel supported when you cultivate the relationship as a sign of appreciation
    • It makes people more willing to pay it forward
    • It trains
    • It builds trust

    • Get specific: add “for” at the end of your initial phrase of gratitude
    • Make it public: in a meeting, group chat, Instagram story, etc.
    • Share a list  of your favorite things about them
    • Write a handwritten letter
    • Get deep
      • I cannot thank you enough.
      • Words cannot express how much you mean to me.
      • I am more grateful to you than you’ll ever know.
      • I’m eternally grateful.
      • I'll never forget your support and kindness.
