This week, Jayzen is thrilled to welcome a true icon in the LGBTQ community, Sarah Kate Ellis.  As President and CEO of GLAAD, Sarah Kate and her team’s work is focused on LGBTQ advocacy and cultural change. GLAAD works to ensure fair, accurate, and inclusive representation and creates national and local programs that advance LGBTQ acceptance.  Sarah Kate has an incredible career story to share, having worked in the magazine industry for many years before taking the helm at GLAAD.  

During a recent Lead With Your Brand keynote to a leadership development cohort at a major bank, Jayzen was asked “how do you know if you’re talking about yourself too much and it feels like bragging?”  It’s a question that we’ve all grappled with at work, as no one wants to be “that person.”  Tune in to hear Jayzen’s advice!

Sarah Kate Ellis is the President and CEO of LGBTQ advocacy organization GLAAD. During her nine years of leading GLAAD, she has run winning campaigns for marriage equality, representation of LGBTQ people in media, education on transgender people, and more. She has moderated and participated in official panels about global LGBTQ issues at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland. She works directly with CEOs, elected officials, and the most recognizable journalists and celebrities to advance LGBTQ acceptance.

 Sarah Kate is a regular expert on CNN, MSNBC, and across print and online media. She. Prior to GLAAD, Sarah Kate was a media executive. She and her wife Kristen co-authored a new children’s book entitled ‘All Moms’ and they reside in New York with their children.
