Podcast Title: The Ripple Beneath
Episode Title: Episode 6 — Scripts for Real Moments: Turning Awareness into Action
Host: Jai Byrne (Wolfpack Support)
Theme: From Knowing to Leading — Practical Scripts for Home, School & Work
Episode Overview:
So far, the series explored:
Behaviour as ripple, not problem
Nervous system states and emotional safety
The Wolfpack Way’s 5 leadership pillars
This episode’s focus:
→ Awareness is not enough — we need practical scripts to act with presence in real moments.
Scripts are not control tools.
They are nervous system signals — helping us stay connected, present and safe during conflict or shutdown.
Why use scripts?
Stress narrows our thinking → we default to old habits.
Scripts bridge that gap and model emotional leadership.
Practical Scripts
1. At Home (Parents & Carers)
During Meltdown:
"I can see you’re having big feelings. I’m here when you’re ready."
When Child Withdraws:
"You don’t have to talk now. I just want you to know you’re not alone."
After Conflict (Repair):
"That got messy. I could have stayed calmer. I’d like to repair and make sure you feel safe again."
Why This Works:
→ Signals safety without forcing.
→ Models accountability.
→ Builds trust through consistency.
2. At School (Teachers & Youth Workers)
Disruptive Student:
"Right now looks tough. Let’s pause and come back when you’re ready."
Withdrawn Student:
"You matter here. I’m here when you want to reconnect."
During Peer Conflict:
"Let’s all take a moment. This is about coming back to safety, not about winning."
Why This Works:
→ Regulates before redirecting.
→ Avoids power struggles.
→ Reinforces connection > compliance.
3. In the Workplace (Leaders & Managers)
Reactive Team Member:
"I can see there’s a lot coming up. Let’s revisit when we’re more grounded."
Tensions in Culture/Meetings:
"I’m noticing pressure. Let’s take 2 minutes to reset."
Repair Conversations:
"That didn’t land well. I take responsibility. Let’s rebuild from here."
Why This Works:
→ Models nervous system leadership.
→ Protects relationships and dynamics.
→ Normalises permission for reset and repair.
Scripts aren’t magic words — they are nervous system signals:
"I am safe."
"I won’t abandon you."
"We can repair."
The ripple starts in what you choose to say — especially when tensions rise.
