Meanwhile, Sydney plays detective to prove that the woman suing her is a fraud, but once again gets bad luck when the conniving Hilda plays everyone against Sydney. Billy learns details about Samantha's father, Jim, about his criminal days, how he physically and psychologically abused her and her mother, and how Samantha turned him in after he moved in with them. Jake maintains a bedside vigil for Alison when she is hospitalized after developing serious problems with her pregnancy and might lose the baby. Peter begins to see Taylor as his long-dead wife Beth, and Amanda is persuaded by Craig to go out with him for a night on the town, where Kyle joins them. Also, Chelsea gets a disturbing phone call from her long-estranged mother.
