S5E287 Bass Fishing For Noobs - Keep It Simple with Ryan Matylewicz

Tonight on the Noobs show, we welcome Ryan Matylewicz to the show. Amember of the Old Town Kayaks pro staff, Ryan is having a very successful 2022 tournament season, consistently coming through with good finishes. After a brief introduction, we take a look at Ryans 22 season and what led to some of his success.

Ryan then breaks down a great strategy for beginning anglers to simplify their setups. As a new angler, the amount of products available can be downright overwhelming and lead to spending a lot of money on different setups, baits, etc… Ryan lays out 3 different rods an angler can start with and cover many different techniques. He then talks a bit about reel selection and what to look for to match up with the rods he mentioned to build a few rod/reel setups that will let a new angler have confidence that they can go to a new body of water and have what they need to be successful, then how to add on to those 3 setups to be able to cover more options. He also covers some strategies for covering the three parts of the water column, and different baits that can be used for each part.
