Love is not an accessory to the Christian life—it’s the framework that holds everything together. In John 15, Jesus places love as both the beginning and the end of His final instructions, calling His followers to live out the example He first showed them. As the cross draws near, He reminds them that real love sacrifices, remains fruitful, and often comes at a cost. Yet through the Holy Spirit, we are empowered to love—not from our own strength, but because we have first been loved.
