Working in student support roles can bring its highs and lows. There are days when the students we serve are cooperative, understanding and motivated. And there are other days when we have to handle student situations that are challenging. There is no one way to walk through these times. However, we thought it would be helpful to discuss actionable responses that can be used when the session isn't going as planned or is getting out of hand. It takes practice and patience to deal with certain situations, but that's why we all have to guide and support each other.
