The last few weeks we have spent a lot of time talking about self-compassion because it is one of the things that is critical to sustainability of leaders, especially in our current conditions. Last week we talked about the way that self-esteem, especially contingent self-esteem, can hijack self-compassion. We also talked about the notion that having self-compassion doesn’t mean you no longer experience negative things or challenges; rather it provides support when these things do happen.
In this episode I talk about a subject that is near and dear to every educators heart: compassion fatigue. I discuss the warning signs, what you can do about it for yourself, and ways to support your staff.
