To be successful in tournament fishing you need to have the materials you need to have a successful day out on the water. If you don't have your rods, reels, tackle, and baits, you obviously aren’t going to catch many fish. But almost as important and often overlooked is going into a tournament with the right mindset. Tonight on the Noobs show, we welcome Tyler Cole, a successful tournament angler rapidly making his mark on the kayak fishing tournament scene.

We start by getting to know Tyler, how he got into kayak fishing (a story we will definitely have to hear more about) and how he got started with tournament fishing.

Tyler then talks with Susie and Sean about what it takes to be successful when getting into tournament fishing, including a ton of tips for getting your gear ready and some map study tips. But then we dive into the mental game that goes along with tournament fishing, an often overlooked but vital part of being a successful tournament angler.

Tyler goes over tips to keep from “spinning out”, losing your focus while fishing a tournament, and how important it is to keep fishing until lines out.
