Yes, as I go into my one hundred and first episode I take a look at the way forward for me and podcasting. I have had severe doubts about continuing but having gone this far I feel that I am at least going to see this out until Christmas and then review the whole podcast experiment for the New Year. Yes, it seems terrible to be talking about that time of year and we haven't even got past Halloween yet!
My target when I started this one year ago, was to try to complete one hundred episodes and see how I felt, well here I am. I have had a little 'pod-fade' in the middle of the year but essentially I have continued to post regularly. My greater concern as I have gone on has been a drop in listeners and I am reviewing how I am presenting my content to see if this affects the numbers.
Despite this my greatest reason for doing this has been to have some kind of record of me and how I feel on a variety of topics, that said the listening figures are important, even just from a personal justification point of view. So during the next month I am experimenting with some changes and I hope that they will invigorate both me and my listener base.
The first of these has been to change the whole branding around the podcast; renaming it @GPK makes it more personal to me and also removes the notional 'burden' of a title that included daily within it. I am also reducing my social media output to focusing only on Twitter: https://twitter.com/GPK__ with it essentially becoming my written output and the podcast becoming the verbal output. I am also going to focus more on my anchor links as a method of increasing audience engagement and look at ways in which I can also link more with the audience on this platform.
I give a brief overview of my work linked commitment for this school year regarding the number of pupils I'm engaged with, the type of schools I work in and also the range of care and support needs that I have to put in place to help these children with their own individual #JourneyToBetter
