Returning to school post-pandemic required that we reimagine school in a way that accommodated for “the new normal” which included, among other things, additional supports for the trauma students experienced.  While we made plans and secured resources to support student needs we underestimated the resources we would need to support our staff.  In this episode I chat with Principal Samantha Hamilton from Goodman Elementary part of the Neosho school district located in Goodman Missouri who was able to anticipate the needs because of traumatic challenges her school experienced pre-pandemic.  Samantha shares lots of strategies and resources for creating a school culture that supports teachers both personally and professionally so they can move beyond their comfort zones and take risks in teaching and learning.
