S7E2:
In this episode of the Red Roof Recovery show, Tanya revisits the pandemic - when addiction and suicide rates more than doubled.
During COVID, Tanya became an online facilitator for the Toronto group of SMART (Self Management And Recovery Training). After 2 years of volunteering with the group, she was told that "Moving forward, we don't feel you're a good fit."
Tanya has been told countless times that she's not a good fit. It was part of what kept her saddled with addictions most of her life. Hearing it again - after being free from addictions for a long time - didn't throw her into the vortex of despair again. This time, she took affirmative action to "never let the fuckers pull you down!"
So, even though Tanya makes reference to smartrecoverytoronto, she now recommends smartrecovery.org https://smartrecovery.org to access the SMART meetings that are available globally - which will be a good fit for everyone!
