Today's Daily Decade, for the Feast of St. Zephyrinus, offers prayers for the repose of the soul of a Dr. Whitcroft, submitted by a friend of the prayercast. In lieu of appealing to a saint, we pray a Requiem for the same. Today's reflection is on the scourging, in a sort of roundabout way, but more it forces us to consider how deliberate God's choices are, and why He should have determined that the perfect time, place, and circumstances of His Passion should have been during the Roman occupation of Judea.
