God had a great idea to ensure a healthy relationship between himself and His creation by setting aside one day in seven to get together and spend the day celebrating LIFE. That was before sin and will continue after sin is cleansed from the universe. If this was important to our relationship with God when no sin is present to destroy that relationship, HOW MUCH MORE do we need to be spending this time with God now.
