This summer, we are walking through the first eight chapters of Mark. As we look to the good news reading for this Sunday, Mark 2:23-3:6, resistance from the Pharisees over violations of the religious law grows stronger. Particularly the Fifth Commandment of observing the Sabbath as a day of rest and worship. The disciples and Jesus appear unfazed. Which brings to mind a quote from priest/novelist Andrew Greeley: “Jesus and his disciples go merrily along their troublemaking way
