Veterans Day 2021.

Are you emotional today? I am. If not for a U.S. Army colonel who adopted me as his own, I never would have been in this country. 

In reading the citation he earned for his silver star during World War II, I share traits that you and I can develop as we "lead" others, personally and professionally. 

Here are the points:

• Don't seek recognition
• Risk over resistance
• Serve in secret
• Lifting without "lording"
• Lead without legalism
• Undaunted courage
