SAFA and SABC making positive strides in financial discussions

SAFA’s Financial Chief, Gay Mokoena, says the national football body is making positive headway with the SABC in their bid to find common ground over a new broadcast deal. The two parties have been at loggerheads several times in recent months over money – which has led to ordinary South Africans suffering due to Bafana Bafana games not being broadcasted. The latest disagreement came late last year when the association rejected a R10 million offer from SABC to broadcast an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, but Mokoena, the chairman of SAFA’s Finance and Remuneration Committee, believes both parties are slowly reaching an amicable solution.
