Safe From Harm (SFH) is a comprehensive program, complete with model guidelines, designed to assist The Salvation Army's corps and social service institutions in their efforts to implement The Salvation Army's National Policy Statement on Sexual Abuse of Children. Safe From Harm is a "how to" manual for implementing the policy that has implications for nearly every area of The Salvation Army's corps and social service ministries. The Salvation Army National Policy Statement on Sexual Abuse of Children asserts that "territories will strengthen educational programs relating to child sexual abuse (and that) those programs will include detailed explanations of the Army's policies relating to child sexual abuse". In accordance with the policy, the administration of the Southern Territory has mandated that SFH be properly implemented, managed, and monitored in all corps and institutions. This workshop will provide an overview of the Safe From Harm program components and outline the plan for implementation throughout the Southern Territory to take place in the coming year.
