As we embark on another football season, every fan knows that one of the most painful things to happen to your team is a fumble, dropped pass, or interception. Everything was going great and then — disaster! This is something we don’t need to worry about in our spiritual life. Our life with God in eternity cannot be snatched away, because it’s in the hands of Jesus, our sure-handed Savior.
As we get older, I think the reality of heaven seems more imminent. We don’t want to think that ANYTHING — Satan, illness, or death of a loved one could pry us out of Jesus’ hands. That’s why this promise of God is so precious and comforting; those nail-scarred hands of Jesus have a tight hold on us, and nothing can snatch us away from Him!
