Episode 32: Saha Family Residence (The Burdwan Hanging Family)

Burdwan, West Bengal. July 2015. A quiet yellow house on a narrow lane, home to three generations of the Saha family. For decades, they lived peacefully — until one morning, nine bodies were found hanging in perfect symmetry from the ceiling. No signs of struggle. No intruders. Just notebooks filled with prayers and precise instructions for “liberation.”

In this episode, we examine how belief turned inward became destruction — a case of shared faith so absolute it erased reason itself. Through the notebooks, police reports, and the psychological autopsies that followed, we trace the unseen descent from devotion to delusion, from whispered prayers to ritual death.

What happened inside that house wasn’t murder in the legal sense. It was surrender — quiet, organized, terrifyingly peaceful.
And even now, the yellow house still stands behind its locked gate, vines crawling over its windows, holding on to what it cannot forget.
