The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) is set to host its second national racism conference tomorrow. The last time the conference was held was back in the early 2000s when Thabo Mbeki was president of the country.
The conference is expected to address the root causes of why racial discrimination still exists and whether efforts to address racial discrimination have progressed. The conference will also cover the National Action Plan (NAP) to combat alien exclusion and related intolerance, and the Equality Amendment Bill.
They will also look at Psychological effects of racism - -Alternatives to address rising racial tensions - -Social cohesion in the context of racial relationships -Commercialization of equality law and national action plan
