Today’s guest on Episode 30 of The Sailing Podcast is Wally Moran who is a contributing editor for Sail Magazine and he is on his way back to Cuba in his 34’ sailboat, Gypsie Wind, Wally is about to complete his circumnavigation of Cuba and while sailing, he has been filming his travels for an upcoming TV show – Cuba – Forbidden Paradise. While in the US, Wally has also been giving some sailing seminars about sailing in cuba so you can see he is a great source of information on the topic. I am sure that many people listening will understand the USA / Cuba situation better than I do and it was fascinating for me to hear how Cuba is like ‘forbidden fruit’ to the USA sailors. Wally covers all this for us in the interview.

Wally Moran was also at a Google hangout recently which was put together by Teresa Carey and was on the subject of “How do you prepare to voyage”?. I think that Google hangouts are a very interesting and interactive way to meet with other sailors. I have added a community to Google plus – which is just titled “the Sailing Podcast” and I am going to try and host some interviews (or hangouts) there with some of our guests, so if you are using Google +, please come and join our community – just search for The Sailing Podcast under ‘communities’

I will add a link to our Google + community along with the show notes for this episode at www.thesailingpodcast.com/sailingcuba - I will also add the sites and links that Wally talks about during the interview, so just visit thesailingpodcast.com/sailingcuba to find all that information.

If you have enjoyed the show, please leave us a review in iTunes.

Thank you for joining us on our journey,

David
