While so many of us consider ourselves children of a JPII Generation, we may not know that John Paul the Great's priestly vocation (and subsequent departure from the performing arts) was inspired, in part, by the life of artist and now-St. Brother Albert Chmielowski. Iwona Bernardz-Major is with us to discuss the history of the Church in Poland, its unique resistance to suppression under communist regimes, the philosophical and intellectual maturation of Karol Wojtyła on phenomenology and individual expression on the backdrop of communist suppression in working with young adults, the essence of mercy and human dignity (as seen by JPII in the writings of St. Faustina Kowalska), spiritual fruitfulness vs. productivity, discernment and the dynamic nature of vocation.
Our God's Brother (film adaptation of Karol Wojtyła's stage production) can be found here.
