The New Orleans Saints suffered a tough loss against the Dolphins, with a final score of twenty-one to seventeen. Despite being down by sixteen points at halftime, the Saints rallied in the second half, led by quarterback Tyler Shough. Shoughs connection with wide receiver Devaughn Vele, who caught all eight of his targets for ninety-three yards and a touchdown, was a bright spot. The Saints run defense struggled against Miamis DeVon Achane, but their pass defense performed exceptionally well, sacking Tua Tagovailoa four times and intercepting a pass. The Saints defense held Tagovailoa to a low passer rating of fifty-one point seven and just one hundred thirty-four passing yards.
