Matthew 5:13-16

There is opposition because of Jesus in the world. And the world sees the Kingdom of God as a threat to its own selfish ways and so it seeks to destroy it. If this is the response of the world to the Kingdom of God how are we as God’s kingdom people to live in the World?

Jesus in our passage - will use two pictures drawn from the everyday world to illustrate what it means to be a citizen of God’s Kingdom in a lost and dying world. He calls us to live as salt and light.
