In this episode, we explore the difference between feeling comfortable and feeling safe — and what happens when we begin to question whether they are actually the same thing.
We talk about the ways our bodies respond to danger, but also to uncertainty, change and the unfamiliar. A pounding heart, nervousness or the urge to leave can be very real — but does feeling uncomfortable always mean something is unsafe? And how do we learn to recognise the difference?
Along the way, we explore the familiarity of our routines, relationships, beliefs and ways of doing things. What have we called safe simply because we know it? And what might we discover when we become curious about our discomfort rather than automatically obeying it?
Perhaps discomfort doesn't always require us to leave. Sometimes it may be asking us to stop. Sometimes it may be saying, not yet. And sometimes it may be inviting us to keep going and experience something new.
Can we be safe and uncomfortable? Can we be nervous and still know we're okay? Can we be uncertain and still take the next step?
Perhaps learning the difference between discomfort and danger gives us something we may not have realised we had — choice.
🃏 THE TAROT — The Star
The Star brings curiosity and hope to our conversation through the story of Pandora. Her curiosity opened the box and brought what was hidden into the open — and within the box was also hope.
Perhaps we don't discover what lies beneath our discomfort by keeping the lid firmly closed. Curiosity invites us to look, to explore and to ask what our discomfort might actually be telling us.
Associated astrologically with Aquarius, The Star also speaks to the courage to be different — to move beyond what is familiar while remaining connected to who we are.
Perhaps we don't need to know exactly what lies beyond the familiar before we take another step. Perhaps we can trust ourselves enough to say, I don't know what's in there, but I know I'm going to be okay.

In this episode, we explore what happens when life feels like too much and our instinct is to withdraw, close the doors and shut out the world.
We talk about the ways overwhelm can show up in the body, and what might change if we begin to recognise our capacity before we reach the point of shutting down. What if the message isn’t necessarily I need to shut everything out, but simply I’ve reached my limit?
Along the way, the conversation moves from either/or to both/and. We explore the difference between limits and boundaries, and whether knowing when we’ve had enough might actually allow us to remain more connected to life. Can we care and protect ourselves? Can we participate and step away? Can we remain open without being available to everything?
Perhaps staying open isn’t about taking everything in. Perhaps it’s about learning to stay connected to ourselves as we engage with the world — knowing when to continue, when to pull back and when to say, not this.
Can we allow ourselves to belong to the whole of life without requiring ourselves to hold all of life?
🃏 THE TAROT — Four of Pentacles
The Four of Pentacles brings us back to protection and what happens when we hold everything close in an attempt to keep ourselves safe. Sometimes protection is exactly what we need. But this card also invites us to notice when protection begins to become disconnection.
Maybe the question is: Am I protecting myself so I can remain connected to life — or has protecting myself started to disconnect me from it?

In this episode, we explore what happens when someone sees the world differently from us, and why disagreement can sometimes feel like something much bigger than a difference of opinion.
We talk about what happens in the body when a deeply held belief is challenged, and how quickly difference can be interpreted as danger. Can we create enough space between reaction and response to become curious about what is happening within us, and about the person standing in front of us?
Along the way, the conversation moves from disagreement to understanding. Can we understand why someone believes what they believe without needing to believe it ourselves? Can we remain open to another perspective without abandoning our own? And perhaps underneath it all sits an even more vulnerable question: does belonging require agreement?
Maybe we don’t need to agree in order to remain in relationship. Maybe we can trust ourselves enough to hold our own perspective while allowing someone else to hold theirs.
What might become possible if neither of us has to win?
How about we simply say: I’m seeing it differently — and I’m still seeing you.
🃏 THE TAROT — Queen of Wands
The Queen of Wands reminds us of the power of knowing who we are without needing someone else to agree with us. Secure in her own voice and perspective, she can remain open to what others bring without being diminished by it.
Maybe real personal power is being able to say: I don’t need you to agree with me for me to trust myself.

In this episode, we explore why asking for help can feel so much harder than it sounds.
We talk about the beliefs and expectations we carry around independence, capability and vulnerability, and how our families, culture and experiences can shape what asking for help means to us. We also explore knowing our own limits, finding the people we feel safe enough to ask, and allowing someone to say no without making their answer mean something about us.
Along the way, the conversation takes us somewhere we didn’t quite expect — from the difficulty of asking for help to our ability to receive it. Can we accept someone’s time, care or generosity without immediately wondering how we can repay them? And what if allowing someone to help us isn’t a sign that we’re less capable, but an invitation into relationship?
Perhaps asking and receiving are simply two parts of the same human exchange — an opportunity to let kindness move in both directions.
🃏 THE TAROT — Page of Pentacles
The Page of Pentacles invites us to consider the foundations we are creating for the life ahead. When we allow ourselves to ask for and receive help, perhaps we are also cultivating kindness, generosity and goodwill as part of the life we are creating.

In this episode, we explore what age really means when we look beyond the number.
We talk about the expectations and milestones we attach to ageing, the difference between listening to our bodies and listening to our beliefs about what a body of a certain age should be like, and the freedom that can come from questioning what is considered “age appropriate.”
Through our Salt, Sage & Stardust perspectives, we explore the physical reality of a body moving through time, the wisdom and experiences we gather along the way, and the possibility that beneath the birthdays and changing body there is a part of us that isn’t chronological at all.
Along the way, we discover the possibility that we don’t leave our younger selves behind at all. We carry every age we’ve ever been — an accumulation of experiences, memories and wisdom that continues to become part of who we are today.
🃏 THE TAROT — Ten of Cups
The Ten of Cups brings a beautiful sense of emotional contentment to the conversation. An invitation to settle into the knowing that whatever comes next, you’ve got this.

When we are children, life is full of firsts. First tastes. First attempts. First discoveries. First glorious failures.
But somewhere along the way, we become competent at being ourselves. We know what we like, what we don’t like, what we’re good at and how we prefer to do things. And perhaps, without even realising it, we begin closing a few doors.
In this episode of Salt, Sage & Stardust, we explore what happens when we become willing to open some of them again and experiencing something for the ‘first time’.
Not because we need another hobby. Not because we need to challenge ourselves, reinvent ourselves or become better versions of ourselves. Simply because there is something about experiencing a first that gets our attention.
It brings us into our senses. It interrupts the familiar. It invites curiosity. And sometimes, it introduces us to a part of ourselves we haven’t met before.
THE TAROT CARD — Three of Cups
This week, Vicki pulls the Three of Cups.
For Vicki, the card speaks to that first taste of something — the emotional lift of crossing a threshold, discovering what an experience gives us, and having something new from which to continue.
And then another possibility appears. Perhaps doing something for the first time can be even more fun when we do it with people we love.
The Three of Cups reminds us of support, encouragement, shared experience and the joy of having someone there to witness the adventure.

With so much suffering, uncertainty and upheaval in the world, have you ever caught yourself feeling happy and then wondered whether you should?
In this episode of Salt, Sage & Stardust, Vicki & Keryn explore the guilt, conditioning and quiet questions that can surround happiness — especially when someone we love is struggling or the world around us feels anything but joyful.
Through the lenses of Salt, Sage and Stardust, we ask whether grief and joy can coexist, when empathy becomes an obligation to suffer, and whether our happiness really diminishes our capacity to care.
Maybe we don’t need everything to be okay before we allow ourselves to experience what feels good right here, right now.
🎧 Join us as we explore what it might mean to let ourselves feel fully alive … whatever that moment happens to contain.
🔮 Tarot Wisdom — Three of Wands
The Three of Wands reminds us that we have the right to experience and celebrate those sparks of happiness when they arrive — without needing permission or validation from anyone else.
In Vicki’s reading, the card offered a beautiful message: a spark of happiness is proof of life.
It reminds us that we are here, we are alive, and our experience is real. Those moments of joy can illuminate possibility and remind us that there is still more life waiting to be experienced.

What happens to the I when we become part of a We?
We all want connection — to love, belong, participate and be part of something bigger than ourselves. But somewhere in that desire to belong, it can be surprisingly easy to turn down parts of who we are.
So when does connection become self-abandonment?
In this episode, Keryn and Vicki explore the dance between individuality and togetherness — and whether we can be fully ourselves while allowing others to be fully themselves too.
Through Salt, they consider what the body can reveal when we're losing touch with ourselves. Sage explores the beliefs we've inherited about belonging, compromise and fitting in. And Stardust opens the conversation into the possibility that our individuality may be precisely what allows the greater We to exist.
✨ The Tarot
The Nine of Cups brings a beautiful perspective on individual journeys, togetherness and what becomes possible when we bring who we are into the collective.
Perhaps the We doesn't need a smaller version of you.
Perhaps it needs you.

The good china. The Sunday best. The beautiful bottle of wine. The expensive candle. The special dress waiting for somewhere worthy enough to wear it.
Many of us grew up knowing there was the everyday stuff — and then there was the good stuff.
But what are we actually saving it for?
In this episode of Salt, Sage & Stardust, Keryn and Vicki begin with memories of china cabinets, special occasions and the things they weren't allowed to touch — and find themselves exploring something much deeper about permission, pleasure, worth and the way we choose to live our lives.
Because for generations before us, saving the good stuff often made perfect sense. Things were precious, difficult to replace, and shaped by experiences of scarcity, war and rationing. But sometimes we inherit the behaviour without inheriting the circumstances that created it.
Through the lenses of Salt, Sage and Stardust, we become curious about the rules we continue to carry, the meaning we give to things we consider special, and the difference between consciously choosing to save something and simply postponing our own enjoyment.
Perhaps the invitation isn't to stop having things that are special.
Perhaps it's to recognise that we are worthy of enjoying them too.
To wear the pearls. Use the crystal glasses. Scribble in the beautiful journal. Open the good bottle. Use the expensive rose essential oil.
Not because every day needs to become an occasion, but because perhaps we don't always need an occasion to allow ourselves to feel special.
✨ The Tarot
This week, The Magician joins the conversation.
With the tools already laid out before him, The Magician reminds us of the resources we already have available to us — and invites us to become curious about what might happen when we actually use them.
There is possibility here, but also action. Because having the tools is one thing. Choosing to do something with them is another.
And perhaps that beautifully echoes the heart of this week's conversation: the good stuff is already here.
So maybe there's just one question left to ask:
What are you waiting for?
🎧 Join Keryn and Vicki for another wandering, wondering conversation about the good china, inherited rules, worth, pleasure, permission — and the possibility that maybe the good stuff was never meant to be saved for a special life.
Maybe it was meant to remind us that this life is special ✨

Change is inevitable. But perhaps the deeper invitation isn't simply to adapt to what's changing around us but to become curious about what's changing within us.
In this episode of Salt, Sage & Stardust, Keryn and Vicki explore the way change moves through generations, and how our instinct to cling to the familiar can sometimes have us judging something before we've had the chance to become curious about it.
Because change has a way of showing us things.
It can reveal what we value, challenge what we thought we knew, and invite us to see possibilities we couldn't see before.
Through the lenses of Salt, Sage and Stardust, we reflect on the wisdom each generation leaves for the next, the constants that steady us when the world feels unfamiliar, and the possibility that we don't have to lose ourselves in order to move with the times.
Perhaps change can help us know ourselves more deeply.
✨ The Tarot
This week, two cards fly from the deck: The Emperor and the Seven of Cups.
The Emperor offers stability, structure and a foundation from which to stand, while the Seven of Cups opens us to choice, possibility and experiences we may not yet have considered.
Together, they beautifully echo the heart of this conversation: when we know what steadies us, we have the freedom to become curious about what else might be possible.
So rather than asking whether change is good or bad, perhaps there's another question waiting for us:
What is change making possible within you?
