Salvation Assurance

Listen Later

This morning I am going to start right off with a familiar passage. One which we should take head and seek to know that we would not be in that group of people. ----Matthew 7-21-23--21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven- but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name- and in thy name have cast out devils- and in thy name done many wonderful works- 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you- depart from me, ye that work iniquity.--Many times I have said here that Jesus is in no way saying that works are a prerequisite to salvation. But if you notice the but in the passage it points us to the fact that he that doeth the will of God in heaven are those who will have found the salvation they were searching for through Jesus Christ. What this means is that the ones who have truly found Faith in Christ will not be found wanting in the production of good works, it will be natural to them just as the breath they breathe. Just being a good person and filling you bucket list with good deeds will not bring about salvation. In other words it is a lifestyle, not an ego trip. --Now I say all of this to bring us to the point that we see the need to search ourselves that we know with 100- certainty that we are children of God Aires to the throne of grace unto salvation by the blood of Christ.
