But Servants

Salvation & Singing (Zephaniah 3:9–20)

Listen Later

Many times, we don’t like the “dark” parts of the Bible – the parts which speak of God’s anger and judgement. We prefer the positive parts – about joy and love and blessing. But Zephaniah shows us that it’s only as we appreciate the gravity of our sin, that we can begin to rejoice more deeply in God’s love. For it is by reflecting on God’s wrath and judgement, that we come to appreciate more fully the salvation God has won for us.

This sermon was preached at Cross & Crown, Penang on 3rd December 2023.
