Chief City Auditor Sam Fein and Joe Bonilla of the PR firm Relentless Awareness have launched a website proposing that intercity buses be moved to an underground deck at the Empire State Plaza Concourse. They describe the Empire State Plaza complex as “one of the most over-built pieces of transit infrastructure in the Northeast” and that “it was designed with an underground bus station in its concourse.” The proposal came after Albany County Executive tabled a proposal to build a bus station at the old McDonalds at Pearl and Madison after community opposition. Fein discusses the proposal with Mark Dunlea for Hudson Mohawk Magazine.
