Sam Lansky is a writer, journalist and editor. His new book is Broken People: A Novel follows a writer named Sam as he seeks out a shaman to perform "open-soul surgery". The procedure can fix everything that's wrong with you in three days.

The novel is a follow up to his 2016 memoir The Gilded Razor. We discuss both books as well as Sam's day job as an editor at Time Magazine.
