The Adventures of Sam Spade, Detective was a radio series based loosely on the private detective character Sam Spade, created by writer Dashiell Hammett. The show, known for its action-packed episodes full of wisecracks and laughs, featured Howard Duff as the colorful title role and Lurene Tuttle as his secretary. In this episode, Sam is hired to protect a wealthy young woman who claims her life is endangered by her mentally unstable brother and their scheming psychiatrist stepfather. Sam becomes a chauffeur to enter the wealthy home and discover who's been threatening the woman. The character Betty turns out to be quite deadly.
