Sam talks with Andy Evans about the future of online publishing, advertising and podcasting

Andy Evans is a serial entrepreneur and my good friend. He is now semi-retired or as he says on LinkedIn "Investigating my next era".

Andy talked about starting his entrepreneurial career at 15 and then the challenges of building two online publishing and advertising companies which he successfully sold.      We also talked about the future of print publishing, advertising and especially podcasting as Andy started UK's first Podcast production company in 2005.   --- Background: In 1985, Andy starting his first business aged 15, selling concert tickets and trips. In 1999, he founded one of the UK's first digital publishing businesses & first vertical ad-network in the UK, Net Communities, and in 2015 sold it to Future plc.   He also founded the UK's first Podcast production company in 2005 which is very topical today.   Frustrated with ad quality, transparency and brand safety online, he co-founded award-winning viewability technology provider OnScroll in 2013, which after tremendous growth, he sold to Sovrn Holdings, Inc. in April 2016, where he worked until May 2019.   A technology and gadget enthusiast at heart, his first computer was a Sinclair ZX-81 in 1981, today he loves studying, learning about and working with new technologies.   He's worked on all sides of the media industry from print/digital publishing, ad agency and most recently, in ad tech and have worked with many of the world's leading global brands.   "I now use the knowledge I've gained to advise, mentor and invest in all kinds of digital businesses." - Andy Evans
