We explored Acts 11 as a story of both fulfillment and new beginnings. It was the fulfillment of the gospel being available for all peoples, including the Gentiles. It was also the beginning of the church in Antioch and the importance that the Gentile church would play in the future. The larger story of what God was doing was linked to the individual stories of many people. Acts 11 provides the story of both famous heroes in the faith as well as groups of people who were scattered and brought the gospel with them to new places. We were encouraged in our time of being “scattered” to recognize how important it is for the gospel to be spread one by one through each of us.
