This week the Lashua's celebrate their 7th Wedding Anniversary (WOOT WOOT!!) and gift us the 7 Keys To A Great Marriage. The 7 Keys gifted in this weeks episode are lessons learned by the Lashua's during their toughest seasons. Choosing to Turn Towards one another, creating their SameTeam marriage, in the midst of life's difficulties, brokenness, financial hardships, infertility, and isolation led them to the powerful takeaways that we get to glean from in todays episode.
1) Don’t Quit. It Gets Better
2) A Voice 2nd Only to God’s
3) Be Right OR Have Peace
4) Always Choosing SameTeam (gifting one another the permission and authority to “Same Team Bro” in the midst of conflict)
5) Sacrifice Self or Sabotage Your Marriage. Self has to be sacrificed, meaning, Self-: Preservation, Sufficiency, Promotion, & Self-fishness has to be forsaken at the feet of your relationship
6) Low Expectations (does NOT mean Settling)
7) Longterm Romance IS the unicorn dust in marriage. Refuse the allowance of daily distractions to take the focus off of your marriage. When marriage isn't centered in your world... you miss its ultimate meaning.
The Lashua's open up about a recent circumstance in their home that truly tested them both as individuals and as a couple. Life continues to happen and it never asks permission before it does. Listen in as they share how they choose to stay #SameTeam even when life's cards feel like a flop.
