Samm Henshaw was born in London, England and was raised by Nigerian parents in South London. Henshaw grew up with music but not in the conventional sense. Nobody in his household played an instrument but there was always sound running through the house, which highly influenced his musical nature. Samm essentially found his love for music and learned to play instruments in his church pastored by his father, where he developed his abilities further. Henshaw spent his secondary years at Cleeve Park School, then went on to study a popular music performance degree at Southampton Solent.
Now an independent artist Samm has been around over about 5 years, has toured with big names, such as James Bay and Chance the Rapper.2020 started strong with an extensive US tour but then teh pandemic struck and Samm contracted Covid himself whilst in Memphis. Contained to a hotel room for two weeks he went through a series of emotions whilst at the same time desperate to get home after his dad fell ill simultaneously. Luckily they both made a full recovery.
His most recent track All good comes from a campaign by Samsung in which they sought for people to upload pictures and then artists, such as Samm, took up the challenge of conveying the message in the picture.

For fans to get involved in Samsung’s Inspired by a True Photo campaign, simply upload a real-life photo taken on your Galaxy device to Instagram, using #withGalaxy, to be in with the chance of having the photo selected to influence unusual and unexpected creations in arts and culture.
