Surf's up, coastal crew! Get ready for a wild weekend of wave action along Southern California's stunning coastline.

Orange County and San Diego are bracing for some serious surf conditions that'll keep even the most experienced wave riders on their toes. We're talking high-risk rip currents and some serious swells that'll challenge even the most seasoned surfers.

Today's forecast is packing a punch with surf heights ranging from 3 to 6 feet in Orange County - and ramping up to a massive 5 to 8 feet in San Diego, with sets potentially reaching 9 feet! That's some serious wave energy coming your way.

Water temperatures are hovering between a chilly 55 to 59 degrees, so grab that wetsuit and be prepared. The swell is mixing it up with west and south swells from various angles - 240 to 280 degrees - creating complex wave patterns that'll keep things interesting.

Tide schedules are looking dramatic. Newport Beach and La Jolla will see extreme low tides dipping below zero and high tides climbing to nearly 6 feet. Morning low tides hit around 4:40 AM, with peak high tides mid-morning.

The warning is crystal clear - rip current risk is HIGH. These aren't your average waves, folks. Life-threatening conditions are likely, so if you're not a professional, today might be a day to admire the ocean from the safety of the beach.

Sunday looks slightly mellower with surf dropping to 2-4 feet in Orange County and 3-5 feet in San Diego. But don't get too comfortable - those rip currents are still bringing serious attitude.

Stay safe, stay smart, and respect the ocean's power!
