Surfers and beach lovers, grab your boards and sunscreen because we've got the lowdown on this weekend's coastal conditions!

Let's start with Orange County, where we're looking at some mellow waves rolling in at 1 to 3 feet today. The water's sitting around a chilly 53 to 57 degrees, so you'll want that wetsuit. Rip current risk is low, which means you can breathe easy, but always stay alert.

Newport Beach is hosting a tidal dance today with four tide changes. Early risers can catch a high tide at 4.9 feet around 3 AM, followed by a low tide dipping to negative 0.1 feet by late morning. Evening brings another high and low tide cycle for those sunset surf sessions.

Cruising down to San Diego County, things get a bit more interesting. Today's surf is pumping slightly higher at 2 to 4 feet with a moderate rip current risk. Water temps have warmed up a touch, ranging from 54 to 59 degrees. La Jolla's tide chart mirrors Newport's rhythm with similar high and low tide times.

Both regions are seeing swells predominantly from the west around 270 degrees, which means clean, consistent wave patterns. Saturday looks a bit calmer with smaller 1 to 3 foot surf and low rip current risks.

Pro tip: Check local conditions before heading out, dress for the cool water, and always respect the ocean's power. Stay stoked and stay safe!
