Listen Later

Surf's up, beach lovers! We're checking in with the latest coastal conditions from San Diego to Orange County.

Today's looking pretty mellow with small 1 to 2 foot waves rolling in from a west swell around 280 degrees. Water temperatures are chilling between 54 and 60 degrees - wetsuit weather for sure. The rip current risk is low, so casual surfers and beach bums can breathe easy.

But hold onto your board shorts because Monday is bringing some serious wave action! We're looking at a solid 2 to 5 foot surf with a mixed swell game. Expect waves from the south around 200 degrees and another west swell coming in at 250 to 270 degrees. The rip current risk is stepping up to moderate, which means you'll want to keep your ocean skills sharp.

Tide watchers take note: Newport Beach and La Jolla are seeing some sweet tide cycles. Morning highs are around 4.5 to 4.6 feet, with afternoon lows dipping to -0.3 feet. Evening highs will bump back up to 3.9 to 4.2 feet.

No thunderstorms in the forecast, so clear skies should accompany those awesome waves. Whether you're a seasoned wave rider or just looking to catch some rays, this coastal forecast is your ticket to an epic beach day. Stay safe, stay stoked, and ride those waves!
