Surf's up, wave riders! Let's dive into today's coastal conditions for Orange County and San Diego.

The Pacific is serving up a smooth mix of swells today with moderate rip current risks along both coastlines. Expect waves dancing between 2 to 4 feet with occasional sets pushing to 5 feet - perfect for intermediate surfers looking for some playful action.

Water temperatures are keeping things chilly but tolerable ranging from 58 to 64 degrees. You'll definitely want that wetsuit today. Newport Beach and La Jolla are experiencing nearly identical surf dynamics with mixed swells coming from multiple directions.

For Newport Beach, today's tide chart shows a low of 1.9 feet around 1:28 AM, climbing to a high of 4.0 feet by 6:55 AM. Another low hits at 1:33 PM before evening's high tide peaks at 4.5 feet around 8:11 PM.

La Jolla's tidal rhythm follows a similar pattern with low and high tides synchronized almost identically to Newport's schedule.

The good news for wave hunters - no thunderstorms are expected to crash our surf party. Wind and swell directions will keep things interesting with mixed angles ranging between 190 to 290 degrees.

Rip current risk remains moderate so stay alert, know your limits, and maybe bring a buddy. Surf safe and enjoy those California waves!
