Surfers and beach lovers, listen up! The Pacific is serving up some serious wave action this weekend.
Orange County's looking at a gnarly surf zone with heights climbing 3 to 6 feet and local sets pushing a massive 7 feet. We're talking high rip current risk, so if you're not an experienced ocean warrior, think twice before paddling out. Water temps are sitting sweet between 62 and 68 degrees - just warm enough to keep you comfortable.
For Newport Beach, we've got tidal drama with a morning low at negative 0.4 feet, then climbing to a solid 3.5-foot high around 3 PM. The swell is a mix of south and west directions - 190 and 270 degrees respectively - creating some complex wave patterns that'll challenge even seasoned surfers.
San Diego County is presenting slightly mellower conditions with moderate rip current risk. North County beaches will see 2 to 4 foot waves with sets reaching 5 feet. La Jolla's looking at similar water temps and a comparable tidal rhythm.
Both regions share one critical message: respect the ocean. Those mixed swells might look inviting, but they're packing serious power. Whether you're a pro or a weekend warrior, check conditions, know your limits, and never surf alone.
Stay stoked, stay safe, and may your rides be epic!
